Coverage depth

Five levels, one continuous record

Most directories stop at the cabinet. This one keeps going — a mayor and a minister sit in the same schema.

01 · Federal

Executive, Parliament & Judiciary

President, Prime Minister & Council of Ministers, House of Peoples' Representatives, House of Federation, federal courts.

02 · Regional

Regional States & Chartered Cities

Regional presidents, state councils, and the Addis Ababa / Dire Dawa city administrations.

03 · Zonal

Zonal Administrations

The intermediate tier between a region and its districts — zonal administrators and councils.

04 · Woreda

Woreda & Sub-city Offices

District administrators and councils — where most residents' direct contact with government happens.

05 · Kebele

Kebele Leadership

The smallest administrative unit — added in later phases as coverage and verification capacity grow.

Why one schema, top to bottom

  1. Comparable at any level. A minister and a kebele chair share the same fields, so search and filters work identically across the whole hierarchy.
  2. Sources are a field, not a footnote. No claim about a living person ships without at least one citation attached to the record itself.
  3. Every position links to a place. Positions resolve to a region/zone/woreda node, which is how the geography and politician sections stay in sync.
  4. History is kept, not overwritten. Past office-holders and former boundaries stay queryable rather than being deleted on update.
Content model

Open to contribute, slow to publish

Public sources first

Baseline entries are seeded from government gazettes, official sites, and reference data — never invented to fill a gap.

Community edits, reviewed

Anyone can propose an edit; a named editor with a visible history has to approve it before it goes live, with a full diff trail.

A correction is one click away

Every page carries a visible "flag this" and "request correction" path — disputed claims are marked, not hidden, while under review.
